Chris Roberts-Antieau

Chris Roberts-Antieau’s work never fails to make one smile. Each year a new portfolio is developed employing her humor and thousand of small pieces of fabric.

Chris writes…

“I knew that I was going to be an artist when I was a child. I remember drawing horses and copying fashion illustrations from Vogue magazine for hours and hours on our living room floor. I remember riding in the back seat of my father’s cars, making compositions of the landscape as it flew by. I saw the world in pictures. My parents told me that anything is possible. I am grateful for the opportunity that I have to make pictures of what I see.

My art is influenced by everything. The events and people and animals that end up in my work are usually the events and people and animals that I have encountered in my daily life.

I believe in humor and joy and in choosing to see a brighter version of things. I love beauty. I live the woods. I built my house and studio. I have great friends. I work hard. I love what I do. I believe that we are here for a purpose. I am humbled by the blessing in my life.”
