Building his first soap box derby car 35 years ago was probably the first time Kevin became aware of the important differences between carpentry and craftsmanship. It taught him an early appreciation for the purity of design, functionality of an object and finishing details. These very same elements are characteristic of furniture built by the Shakers and have strongly influenced the designs and details of Kevin's line of furniture.

Beauty and functionality are always top of mind whenever Kevin designs a new piece for his line of furniture. He starts each project by carefully selecting the hardwood and matching the color and grain. Then, each piece is handcrafted using dovetails, mortise and tenons and other traditional joinery techniques. Once the furniture is assembled, it is hand sanded and finished to an impeccably smooth luster. The end result is a piece, which is beautiful, functional, and destined to be passed on for generations.
